Homecoming

"I still feel stressed, still gotta get something off my chest" - Z-Ro

Memories scatter across my mind throughout the day, whether good or bad.{I’d prefer good} Do your memories make you feel like you should be at a better place in life? Like maybe everything you have been doing has not amounted to what the younger you dreamed of?

Quick question; If your younger you were to ask, "Have you been living out the marvelous and astonishing dreams that we dreamt?" How would you answer that? Would you be afraid to answer? Would you disappoint the younger you?

25 years after my birth, here I stand with knowledge, wisdom, experience, victories, defeats, confidence, ambition, a humbled heart, and many more attributes that help define who I am. I thought to myself how would I answer the question posed by the younger me. I'd sit down with him and maybe have a little bottle of crown, maybe, and we'd get to talking about how everything that we dream't of is not always meant to be. But at the same time, when your dreams become passions, that’s when you’re able to better direct yourself in that direction to start achieving and succeeding. Never look back on where you have come from in a bad way or with regret because it shaped you; hopefully for the better. To become the best you possible, you have to understand that everything we experience is a learning opportunity. Messing up is inevitable up but you must know that each day when you wake, you have the privilege of bettering yourself and changing your situation.

It's very apparent that when you were younger you were basically a taught human being. Your mind had not yet fully developed so depending on what situation you were in you were more than likely doing what someone told you to do.

Ex(s): Your parents influencing your religion; Your parents choosing what to feed you; Your parents planning your life day to day

"Get to the point Yams" Ok, ok I will. Where we come from is the basis of who are, but it is not the premise of where you will end up. Rock bottom is a place that you never want to reach but if you ever do get there just remember where you came from and how for you've come. Once you get to a point that success is what you want then NOTHING will get in your way. Things might slow you down or look like they are going in the wrong direction just never forget how far you have come.

"Never give up. Never give up. Never give up."

I preach this to myself everyday, and it really does help. All you have to know to be successful is something that you were taught in elementary. Maybe you should ask the younger you.

“Younger me, I have a question, what do I need to know to be successful?" "Well that's an easy one. You need the 5 W's. WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY"

WHO are you doing it for?

WHAT are you going to do to succeed at all cost?

WHEN will you fully condone yourself in chasing and reaching your dreams?

WHERE do you want to end up? [Where you're from, or where you want to be?]

WHY do you want to be successful?

Answer these questions and you're well on your way to a better mindset!
